December 12, 2022

I'm a natural light photographer who enjoys capturing love stories all over the world—but  Pensacola, Florida is where I call home with my husband and two young children.

Brittany and Allen traveled from Atlanta, GA to exchange vows on the white beaches behind Vue on 30a. Growing up, Brittany’s family would come down to the area for vacations to visit the pristine gulf waters and powder-white beaches to relax and refresh so it was an easy decision to make her go-to location to get married and have a beach wedding at the Vue on 30a.

Our bride was a fan of color and as wedding vendors, that is joy to our ears. The florist Myrtie Blue wanted to incorporate mauves, deep purples and pinks and knocked it out of the park with this floral tower design along with their reception installation. Brittany was speechless and shocked to see the floral towers when she walked down the aisle.

How does it feel to be married?

“Amazing, we couldn’t have imagined such a beautiful day to kick off the next chapter of our love story.”

Are you going on a honeymoon?

“Of course!! We aren’t 100% sure yet. We would LOVE to go the Maldives.”

Why did you choose your venue?

The main reason was being able to have the ceremony and the reception with views of the beach. The beach has always been my happy place so I knew I needed it as my backdrop. Other venues around 30a had your ceremony on the beach then you had to switch locations to go to the reception.

Allen, What was the first thing you noticed when you saw Brittany?

The pure joy and happiness on her face. Brittany has this amazing smile, and she smiles a lot, but when I turned around, all I could see was the overall absolute joy that she was extruding. That smile, combined with that dress…there has never been a more beautiful, stunning bride.

What was your favorite and most memorable part of your wedding day?

I’m going with 2 things because they coincide with one another. The flowers everywhere were amazing, the color palette, the altar display…which made our picture session with Pevee on the beach during sunset even more epic and beautiful than we could have ever imagined.

What was one thing that future couples who are planning a wedding can live without?

We tried really hard to think of something for this and couldn’t really come up with anything. I am sure there was something, the day of, but we don’t remember. We will just say this, trust your vendors and planners, they do this for a living and are in the business of making the couple as happy as they possibly can.

One tip for future couples?

Hire a videographer! We are very picture-first people, and talking to our parents and grandparents, they all say they may have watched their wedding video once in the 20+ years they have been married, so we figured that we didn’t really need a videographer. We were wrong. Now that we are home and talking about the wedding, we can’t remember details, such as what music was playing, what we looked like walking down the aisle, and so on. The pictures are beautiful and perfect and capture the happiness of everyone there, but they can’t capture the “liveness” of the event like video can. Honestly, we would probably only watch it once, like our parents and grandparents, but being able to see the wedding and reception through the guest’s eyes would have been nice.

I absolutely loved their personal touch of using their family Bronco as their getaway vehicle! Such a fun touch and a perfect ending to a memorable wedding on 30a.
